2026 Honda CR-V Gets More Tech, Adds TrailSport Model

The updated 2026 Honda CR-V will arrive in dealerships later this spring complete with improved technology and a new TrailSport model joining similar offerings from the Honda Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline.

First things first, standard equipment has been upgraded for 2026 and now includes a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. In all hybrid models, a new 10.2-inch, fully digital instrument panel has been added.

What’s more, off-road traction management (at speeds below 14 km/h) has been enhanced on AWD-equipped CR-Vs. By the way, Honda keeps selling the base LX model with standard FWD to maintain a lower entry price. At the top of the lineup, Google built-in finds its way in Touring trim.

CR-V TrailSport

The new and slightly more rugged-looking Honda CR-V TrailSport (hybrid only) stands out with unique 18-inch wheels in a Shark Gray finish, Continental CrossContact ATR tires and a TrailSport-exclusive Ash Green Metallic exterior colour that debuted on the second-gen 2026 Passport TrailSport. It’s further distinguished by TrailSport badging, a mix of black and orange accents and a gloss black rear spoiler.

Inside, the cabin features a TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat headrests and molded onto the standard all-season rubber floor mats. Amber-coloured ambient lighting in the footwells, overhead console, door handle pocket door tray and cupholders add a warm touch, as well.

Alas, that's where the modifications essentially end. There’s no beefed-up suspension or increased ground clearance, for example. A roof rack is optional. Like other gas-electric CR-V models, this one generates 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. It's likely to burn a tad more fuel than the 6.4 L/100 km rating announced by Natural Resources Canada, mind you.

Pricing details for the 2026 Honda CR-V will be released in the next few weeks. As a reminder, the outgoing 2025 CR-V ranges from $39,498 to $53,593 including all applicable fees.
